Eggs in a basket(Eggy bread)

Ingredients:

  • 1 Slice of bread of your choice
  • 1 Egg of you choice
  • Butter
  • Cheese and/or your choise of powdered sugar and syrup of your choice
  • 1 glass that is smaller in diamiter than your bread slice

Instructions:

Step 1 - Scramble your egg in a blow with what ever seasoning you love and set aside for now(also shred your favorite meltable cheese if you want that little bit of extra).

Step 2 - Butter your piece of bread(lest messy tricks for this 1- use parchment paper when you have to butter the other side so it dose not take all the butter off after you flip. 2 (unheathy but actuly make it better quality) - just add lost of butter to the pan to cover all the bread surface area both pieces when add it to the pan a nd when flipping it).

Step 3 - Use the cup to cut a hole in the center of you piece of bread.(cook the hole piece even on each side as you make the eggy bread)(see notes for mickey mouse  shape trick)

Step 4 - Heat pan med/ med low(4 to 4.5 if you have nubers on you stove top)

Step 5 - Add the both the hole cut out and the bread to the pan and wait 30 seconds for step 6

Step 6 - pour your egg in the center of the bread hole

Step 7 - Carfully turn when the egg has cooked at least half way up your bread and egg depth

Step 8 - Now add your cheese to the top and add a lid to help melt the cheese faster.  Check the bottom every two minutes untill egg is cok all the way.

Note: You can also do this with over easy eggs if you wait longer to add the cracked egg.

Mickey Mouse Trick:  So, I am midwesterner and don't through thing away often unless they are actually broken beyond repair.   That's why I still have random 1/2 once shot glasses from a random big lots new years eve party game from way way back. You can buy them on line and are small enough for the ears, or find a really tall skinny one if you can. I use a juice glass for the face cut out. Be sure to make the face cut fisrt when making this.
